Youth Football Three Point Stance

• Feet should be about shoulder width, no wider than your shoulders.
• Feet should be pointed straight and forward.
• Once your feet are set- drop into a squatting position and extend the down hand slightly inside the closest foot in front of your body.
• The body weight should be around 70% on feet/hips and 30% on your hand. Offensive linemen need to explode from their legs while sinking hips and driving defender out of the play with a wide base (sink your hips sky your eyes).
The player should be comfortable in his stance. The three point stance should be practiced in first couple of days of practice. If your child has attended youth football camps they will learn how to get into a proper three point stance. Each organization should have camps before the season so that all the minor things like proper stances will be taught. Make it free for any player that is signed up. If all your players learn the basics like getting into a three point stance, it will allow more practice time for other learning.
