A $54,000 scholarship. That’s a huge sum of money to earn, if you really think about it, it’s an unbelievable amount of money to pay for a college education. Recently P Diddy’s son, Justin Combs, has been talked about in the media over a college football scholarship that he earned. I’m going to bold he earned each time I write it.

One side of the debate contends P Diddy is a business mogul with an unbelievable amount of personal wealth; so his son should reject the scholarship. Fox News favorite, I say this with a chuckle, Bill O’Reilly, chimes in to say because there is a limited amount of scholarship money available, Justin Combs should forfeit the scholarship and let another child, who may actually need the scholarship funds, receive the money. Well Bill isn’t correct in saying this, UCLA issued this statement:
“Unlike need-based scholarships, athletic scholarships are awarded to students strictly on the basis of their athletic and academic ability, not their financial need.”
Bill O’Reilly has never played football, am I stating the obvious? He doesn’t quite understand the amount of dedication and work ethic that goes into the game. If he did, I think his opinion would change.
Whatever you may earn while playing football you appreciate because it doesn’t come easy. Competing at a high level on the football field and in the classroom is a difficult feat, those that can do it deserve recognition and reward. Whether it’s financial reward or a t-shirt- it’s something that is earned. To say well I’m going to change the rules and snatch away your reward is ridiculous.
Here’s highlight film of Justin Combs:

I totally agree!
