Why do kids love to play youth sports?
We recently came across an interesting youth sports survey by Peter Barston, a high school senior from Darien, CT. He surveyed 1,000 kids from Darien, CT and asked them a simple question- “Why do you play sports?”. Peter compiled data for his survey in person, using a single questionnaire, presenting it to girls, boys and parents involved in kids sports. Without any influence from parents or coaches, the results that appear on his website, www.sportsreasons.com, are definitive. Kid athletes just want to have fun.

How important is winning in youth football? It doesn’t appear to be as important for kids as we initially thought. The competition factor is a greater reason to play youth sports for children. And kids want to stay in shape, learn new skills and make friends. The benefits of playing the game of football are great- get involved with the Youth Football Online movement and help get kids into football.
